venice beach

I was planning a short say at the Venic Beach House. Does anyone know it and is it in a safe neighbourhood?

Thanks

Linda

It's right on the corner of Washington at 30th. It's a great area. That whole area has undergone a huge renovation. You can walk to cafes, restaurants - you'll want a bike to go to central Santa Monica.

Really, it all depends on what you want to do, while here. If it's just to soak in local beach atmosphere, it's idea. If it's to sightsee, you're way too far away.

Thanks for the feedback. Basically we will want to relax after having traveled for 3 weeks.Perhaps see how downtown LA has improved over the years!

Downtown L.A.has improved but in my opinion is not there yet. If you are already in the beach area and want to relax, why have the hassle to drive thru traffic and deal with downtown when you have Santa Monica right next door to stroll around and sit in some nice cafes and restaurants(or Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice for that matter)
