Jay Leno's garage? (long shot, I know!)

So I know it's not open to the public and I assume only those who are "connected" ever get to see it, but I figured... if there's any possible way to get to see Jay Leno's garage & car collection when we're in CA, someone on here might know. Is there teeny-tiny slim chance at all? My husband would die a happy death if he got to visit.

Also since I realize that's unlikely... we will probably be visiting the Petersen Auto Museum; any other car-related "must-see/do" stuff in the area? (Hubby is most into "Mopar" (Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth) vehicles.

Thanks!!

The Peterson is great.

If you or your husband like classic cars (mostly 1940's back to the very first cars), then I cannot recommend highly enough visiting the Nethercutt Collection in San Fernando.

I haven't been, but I understand that the NHRA has a museum in Pomona.

I echo Mach on all counts. Contact the Nethercutt Museum to arrange for the free tour of their adjacent facility ('the Nethercutt Collection) which is otherwise closed to the public. BTW, this is about as far from "Mopar" as you can get, e.g. cars run by steam engines, etc, etc.

Info is here: http://nethercuttcollection.org/

If you will be in Orange County on any Saturday morning, there are a couple of events that are interesting.

The Donut Derelicts hold a get together to show off their hot rods and muscle cars in Huntington Beach.

www.donutderelicts.com

Or if you like a mix of muscle cars and exotics, like Ferraris,Maseratis, and

Saleens, you can visit the get together at the Ford Motor Co. parking lot in Irvine.

www.cars-and-coffee.com

They start very early, and are done by 9am.

Thanks for all the great suggestions everyone! I appreciate it.

He's more into the 60s/early 70s stuff, not as much the "antiques" but we'll have to check out all those websites. Thanks! (of course, I won't let our whole trip be focused on cars!!)

Bob's Big Boy in toluca Lake has classic cars roundup every Friday night. Jay has been there once or twice.

Leno's garage is up near the Burbank airport off Clybourn Avenue.

3160 N. Damon Way, 91505

but NOT open to the public!

It's about time I retire my 1990 Chrysler to a museum. Anyone interested? I don't think Mr. Leno would be caught dead...

If you end up in San Diego, there's an auto museum in Balboa Park: http://www.sdautomuseum.info
