i am looking for some 2 bedroom suites in and around LA.

will be coming in 6 Aug.- 11 Aug. Budget will be about $200.00 a night. i have already booked Residence inn at Long Beach 179.00 a night, just wondering if there are any better suggestions. Looking to do touristy things in LA. Did Disney about 3 years ago so will forgo that this time.

If you want to visit LA, then Long Beach makes no sense. You'll be in your car all the time, not visiting the sights.

Look into Celebrity Hollywood, Orchid Suites, Magic Castle - all in Hollywood.

Does the Beverly Hills Residence Inn have any availability for your stay?

It will take about an hour from LB to the Hollywood area.

The Residence Inns in El Segundo or in Manhattan Beach would be better for you than Long Beach. Even Torrance would be better. For some reason, Residence Inn Bev Hills starts at $600 per night on those dates, sorry.

Burbank or Arcadia would be better than Torrance. El Segundo has several suites type hotels, but the commute hour traffic is a bear.

Have you considered getting 2 hotel rooms. You'll have SO many more choices!

For your dates, Hotwire.com has the following un-named hotels:

1. A 4-star hotel in Glendale - Burbank - Universal City for $110. It's described as a non-smoking property with a pool, health club, restaurant and business center so it is MOST LIKELY the Sheraton Universal.

2. A 3-star hotel in Century City - Westwood area for $100. Hard to say which hotel but it's MOST LIKELY one of the 2 Holiday In Express Hotels on the westside (the one adjacent to Century City or the one in West LA).

Hotels.com is offering:

1. The Miyako Hotel in downtown L.A. (Little Tokyo) for $109 per night.

2. The Hollywood Hotel (that's the property's name) for $86.

Love the Residence Inns for a family, much more room and the breakfasts hold you til dinner if you're on a budget.

thank you all again for the great response. we do like the RI or Staybridge suites. It just seems more like home, most have full kitchens and a living room not to mention free breakfast, and isn't LA just one big long drive no matter where you are going. lol

So i think if anyone has any recommendations for the best 2 bedroom suites, i think this is where my focus will be. i mentioned RI and Staybridge because those are the 2 i could find, if anyone has any other 2 bedroom suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
