Cloudy tomorrow, somewhere close & wamer?

We have been here since Monday, the weather has been great!!

It's our last day tomorrow, the forecast is for cooler and cloudier weather. For some warmer weather, was thinking of driving to Palm Springs (probably not much to do there with 3 teen boys??), or perhaps Cabazon Outlet perhaps?

Any other suggestions for a day trip to somewhere warmer besides the above?

Thanks!

I don't think you need to leave the area. It's not a drastic drop. But if you want to go to Palm Springs consider the PS Aerial Tram. Of course, it will be cooler when you get up to the top where it is mountian forest. But it is an great experience with wonderful views as you go up the mountian.

Have you been to Knott's or Six Flags MM?

Sure, if you want warmer go to PS, that is probably the best spot if you are looking for hot. Looks to be 89 Saturday. Don't subject the teens to an outletmall for the day. Take them to Soak City PS! If you don't want to go just drop them off to have fun and you can shop. Or everyone go to Soak City and on the way back go to Cabazon to shop some and have dinner at the casino buffet next to the outlets or something at the outlet mall.

It was 101 degrees in Palm Springs yesterday, but supposed to be cooling a little for the weekend.A trip up the Tram would be fun to do.There is still a lot of snow up there. www.pstramway.com

Near Palm Springs is Joshua Tree National Park. It is a great place to visit in April and the teen boys would enjoy hiking around the other-worldly rock outcroppings.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that Joshua Tree is at a higher elevation than Palm Springs and usually 8-10 degrees cooler, so if temps are projected to be in the 80s in PS, will be in the 70s at Joshua Tree.

What about going to Smoke Tree Stables and taking a one or two hour trail ride on horseback together? Or if you and your hubby want some time alone, you can always drop the boys off at the stables and head over to the outlet mall OR better yet, you and your hubby could go for a couples massage at one of the many spas in town while the boys are on the trails.

Stop in Redlands for the third day of the Redlands Bicycle Classic, featuring pro teams zooming round and round our picturesque downtown! No kidding, the criterium races are fun to watch as the pack goes by over and over. Might even see someone skidding into the protective hay bales. BTW we're on the 10 about 35/40 miles west of Palm Springs.

I happened to stop by the Redlands Bicycle Classic last year after church on Sunday (it goes on for a number of days). This was my first time. It was a lot of fun. There is more than the racing as there is a special area set up nearby to eat and also booths which are mostly area businesses and organizations. Near those is a small covered music venue with chairs. The day I was there the high school jazz band was playing and they were awesome! Hopefully, they will be there tomorrow. I would definitely stop by or even make that your main destination. This event is one of the ones that shows off Redlands and shows you what a nice place it is and how the community comes together to create wonderful events. Also drive over to the AK Smiley Library and Lincoln Shrine, which is near the Redlands Bowl. Those will be nice to just walk around and see. The Redlands Bowl hosts a large summer music festival and a Shakespeare Festival in May. Ask anyone in Redlands for directions, but it is very close. You might also like to see the grounds of the University of Redlands just to see the quad and memorial chapel. It is beautiful and been used in movies.
