Warner Bros & Universal - VIP tours worth extra cost??

Hi

Trying work out if the Deluxe Warner Bros & VIP Universal tours are worth the extra money - anybody done these tours? This will be a once in a lifetime for me so I don't mind paying extra if I know it's worth the dollars.

Many thanks.

I have done the Universal VIP tour and LOVED it, yes, it is worth the extra money (last I checked about $250 per person) . I does come with a couple of free meals, and lots of access that most park guests don't get to do.

get away, just did a trip to Warner Bros, and recommended the VIP. you get to visit an actual set while filming is on and watch some action taking place, so that is good. Made me want to visit next time in LA ( crossing fingers for 2013)

Hi Westaussie,

My family of 5 have been to Universal studios twice - once in 2006 with the standard entry and then last year in July with VIP entry. Wow, what a difference! Of course, you are paying a lot more but in my opinion it was worth the extra $$$ for the experience and I highly recommend it. Fantastic meals - breakfast and amazing buffet lunch - all you can eat, in a little air conditioned restaurant all to ourselves (and the other members of the group, 16 of us in total) No lining up for food, and it was all top quality. Escorted entry front of line to the rides and shows plus a small tram all to ourselves for the studio tour that stopped several times so we were able to get off the tram and explore the "War of the Worlds" airplane crash scene. We got to visit the "Props Warehouse" and have some fantastic photos taken with props from movies, see how props are made in the workshop and visit the set of "Parenthood". Our guide did a great job, giving us a lot of information and he took lots of photos of us as a family, he was just terrific!

After the personally guided tour finished we were able to use our lanyards as "front-of- line" passes for the rides. Totally spoiled me for normal entry - don't know if I'd be able to go back and line up for everything!

Which would you recommend if you have to choose one VIP tour as the 'must see' - MGM Or Universal please - as we could not stretch to VIP for both!
