Cosa Mesa Outlets

Has anyone shopped at the outlet malls in Cosa Mesa? If yes, are the prices good and worth the drive from L.A.?

OK, do you mean "Costa Mesa", which is a city in Orange County, about 30 minutes (in light traffic) from Downtown LA?

While you can find some discount stores in the area, there is no real Outlet Mall.

Now, near Costa Mesa, there are plenty of option, the closest Outlet Mall would be The Outlets at Orange. Also nearby is the Citadel Outlets.

Costa Mesa is home of the Orange County Fairgrounds, which hosts a Swap Meet most weekends.

I think the drive to Citadel, The Outlets of Orange, and other places like Ontario Mills and the combination of the Cabazon and Desert Hills Malls are worth it if you like shopping.

Here is a good article from the LA Times newspaper dealing with the Southern California Outlet Malls.

There are also some stores that feature discount pricing in the strip malls around but not part of South Coast Plaza. Stores include Nordstroms Rack, Ross dress for less, Target, Annas Linens and more. Just another option to consider.

as mentioned, no real outlet areas exists in Costa Mesa. I live and work in Santa Ana, which is the next big town near CM (and in a week, i will call Newport Beach's Fashion Island Mall another workplace also..), and i frequent the South Coast Plaza area quite a bit. Definitely check out the mall if anything as a sightseeing trip, and the discount stores mentioned by dekage around the big mall. On weekends, the swap meet at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa is a good place to head to for bargains. Other than that, Costa Mesa is not really an outlets haven..

I would drive north to Camarillo for outlet shopping.

There aren't any outlet centers per se in Costa Mesa, but there are discount centers around the edge of South Coast Plaza. There is Metro Pointe on Bear, South Coast Village on Sunflower and the discount stores next to South Coast Plaza. Not really worth the trip.

>>>They have everything that you need. Walmart, Petco, Forever 21, Smart & Final and Ross<<<

How is any one of those an outlet? And they are in Anaheim, not Costa Mesa like the OP asked. Do you not think LA has Walmart, Petco, Forever 21, Smart & Final and Ross?

For gosh sakes, scott, no need to get snarky. Since there are no true outlets in Costa Mesa, folks were just trying to offer "discount" ideas, since we are supposing they have other reasons to be in that particular area.

Otherwise, we would have suggested The Citadel or Outlets of Orange, which are true outlet locations, which are closer than Camarillo.
