There's a 24 hour Fitness nearby, don't know if you can just go there if not a member. Google them.
There's a YMCA on Sepulveda Bl (5 minutes from LAX). http://www.ymcala.org/westchester/

I don't know the cost of a 1-time visit. Here's a map of the route from the Tom Bradley International Terminal at the center of the airport to the "Y".
It's a taxi ride of about 2-1/2 miles which would cost about $15 + tip ($4 less, for the return fare). The ride is 5 minutes or so.
You could take a bus which would be a lot cheaper ($1.00 or $1.50, each way) but it would take a while. First, you'd need to transfer to the bus plaza adjacent to the airport (free shuttle which runs every 5 to 10 minutes and stops at each of the airport's terminals before heading to the bus plaza). Then, you'd need to catch one of the northbound buses that run along Sepulveda Bl like the Culver City #6 bus from parking space #10 at the bus plaza. The fare is $1 and the ride is 8 minutes. The bus stops across the street from the "Y" at the corner of Sepulveda Bl & 79th St.
There is a gym close to the airport. The Club at PCT (Pacific Corporate Tower), is located one mile south of LAX in El Segundo at the base of the white pyramid on Sepulveda Blvd. There is a free guest pass good for one hour visit on this site. Print it out.
The major cross streets for the property of Pacific Corporate Towers are Grand Ave. and El Segundo Blvd.
You can look through the photo gallery to see pics. There are lockers, showers, and saunas.
24 hour does not do guest passes as far as I know.
I get in about 6.00am and my flight to Vancouver is 11.30am. Allowing for clearing customs, looking at this it looks like it may be more trouble than it's worth, by the time you get a taxi there and back. I don't know if that would allow enough time for an hr at the gym, maybe even a shower if i could. You guys are amazing, what a incredible wealth of knowledge you are! Thankyou so much.
