Transport to Knotts Berry Farm

We are flying into LAX in December and are booked for a night at one of the airport hotels as we fly to Texas early the next day. We are wanting to go to Knotts Berry Farm and are wanting to look at transport options. Im worried if we book a tour we may not have cleared customs and be at the hotel in time for pickup. Any suggestions?

Pretty sure there is the Disneyland resort Express that would go from LAX to Buena Park area Hotels where Knotts is located. You could get dropped off at the Knotts Berry Farm Hotel and picked up there to go back to the Airport area. If you are staying near the Airport, its likely they will offer transport to and from the Airport.

Grayline Anaheim Tours which offers the Disneyland Resort Express should offer that option for you, but, thier PDF of where they pick up and drop off is not available onliine right now.

For Knotts tickets there are various discount offered depending on what time of year it is, so its a good idea to check thier website as there are often good discounts on tickets offered if you purchase them online there.

Thanks so much for that advice, it's really helpful. I will definitely look into those options, and hopefully one will suit us. Some of the shuttle services I have emailed are really expensive, so looking for something a bit more reasonable.

The options you've looked at are expensive because Buena Park is not in LA, it's in another county all together. So it's a long transfer. And if you're looking to save money, do not follow the above advice of taking a taxi. That will be the most expensive of all.

Why not arrange a private town car/van rental, plenty of choices, and you know in advance the rate.

As mentioned above, do not opt for a taxi.

From your original post, I gather you have just this one day layover. What time are you landing?

Bear in mind that I am a fan of Knott's Berry Farm and would rather not discourage you, but I don't think it will work out on this trip.

Knott's is so far away from LAX and December is a very popular time to visit. It may not be extremely crowded on a weekday prior to the 3rd weekend, but weekends, and the entire week before and after will be very crowded. We don't know exactly when in December. Park operating hours for weekdays are shorter, with an early closing time, unless they are near Christmas. It really is best to get to Knott's before park opening, which may be 10 a.m. If the day is crowded, parking and entering the park will take awhile.

You also need to consider your check in time at your hotel and/or how booked up they might be in December if you want a later check in time.

Best to forget Knott's this time and consider something closer.

If you still think you can fit it in, and have a very early arrival, you might consider renting a car. I don't know how that would end up affecting your morning, the next day, though.

Thank you for the advice. We arrive at LAX at 6.40 am. We are already booked at one of the LAX hotels, and have been advised they will let us leave out luggage there prior to check in. Have been given a quote from a private shuttle company that I think we will go with. Aiming on pickup at hotel around 9.30am, and realise we won't be there till late morning. Knotts closes at 6 pm, so will use the same company to pick us up. It's Monday 2nd of December, so figure it won't be a peak day at the park. As we fly out the next morning, it doesn't really matter if we get back later.

Sounds like a good plan, It will be "Knott's Merry Farm" in December, so lots of special Christmas shows and events, including a crafts fair. Crowds should be low, and hopefully they will be running the Toys for Tots special, where you can buy a low cost ticket (usually around $25) and get admission to the park, and a toy is donated to the drive.

Enjoy your short stay.
