Any favorites in Santa Monica ... Italian, Seafood or Vegan? Any with a view?
I like La Vecchia Cucina on Main Street, but no view. It's a pleasant street to window-shop, though.Edited: 14 August 2013, 17:51
Seafood with a view = The Lobster on Ocean Ave. or Catch in the Casa Del Mar Hotel at the end of Pico Blvd. - I prefer the latter.
Lots of great Italian in and around Santa Monica. Valentino on Pico Blvd., Vicente's over in Brentwood, Capo on Ocean Ave., Fritto Misto are a few of the better choices. For casual (take out type) Italian, Bay Cities Italian Deli has sandwiches that can't be beat.Edited: 14 August 2013, 18:04
For great food and a great meal (one of LA's best restaurants), go to Catch at Casa del Mar Hotel.
Santa Monica is home to some of LA's best, where will you be and will you have a car?
If you want a neighborhood experience, try Il Forno on Ocean Park Blvd. for Italian food.
Seafood: The Lobster (gorgeous view), The Galley on Main, Enterprise Fish, Ocean Ave. Seafood (ocean view from across Palisades Park).
Vegan are all around; check on yelp.com and choose vegan as your option. But most restaurants have vegan and gluten free menu items these days.
For lunch, look for Cha Cha Chicken. It's a nice, casual, Caribbean style place.
Have been to the Lobster on last trip ... it was very good! Great view!!
