What would be the best way to do everything in 2 days?

First, i have read lots of the suggestions over to the right and they have been wonderful and informative. However, since I've never been, it's hard to gauge the best way to do the things I'd like to do. Plus...any other suggestions since i will have my sons ages 20 and 17. I've told them to do some of their own research...but I'm sure 80% will be left to me.

We are staying in Santa Monica for 3 days. Arrival day will just be in Santa Monica.

Day 2: Los Angeles.

1. Drive to Hollywood and Highland shopping Mall to Park

2. Tour the following:

Walk of Fame

Dolby Theatre

Hollywood Wax Museum

Hollywood Museum

Grauman’s Chinese Theatre

Hollywood Sign

3. Continue by Car to Sunset Blvd and Beverly Hills

Rodeo Drive

Lunch at Ivy Restaurant

Other things I'd like to do:

- The Grove

- Tour of Stars Homes

- Warner Bros or Universal Studios Tour

I'd like to spend all of Day 2 in LA, and 1/2 of Day 3. I think the boys would definitely like The Grove. Warner Bros Studios would be interesting, but we will be there late May, so not sure if many studios are open for filming. It might just be fun to see the studios themselves.

Haven't decided if touring the Stars homes is worth it, since we have a car, or where would we even fit it in.

Hope this isn't too confusing. Is the Ivy Resturant near any of these things?

Thanks

You can all the Hollywood and Beverly Hills stuff in the first half of a day and then hit the Grove and Farmer's Market after lunch.

I'd do the Warner Bros. tour the next day in the morning and I'd choose it over Universal Studios. Universal does not have the same, working studio feel that Warner or Paramount does.

I think it's better if you tour on your own, too. There is an Ivy in Santa Monica if you are interested, but of course, the original is where all the action is!

You can include The Grove on your first day. Visit Hollywood (about 2 hours), go to Beverly Hills, then The Ivy, then go to The Grove (you will backtrack a bit). Or Hollywood - Grove - Beverly Hills. Or Hollywood - Warner tour - Grove - Beverly Hills.

That gives you the last day for flexibility; either do something you didn't get to on day 2, or let the boys enjoy Santa Monica some more.

Since you are going so heavy on the Hollywood stuff, consider adding the Grammy Museum. It is located at LA Live in downtown. Your boys are likely to enjoy it.

These are all such great suggestions, I appreciate it so much. I will add the Grammy museum tour, they will like that. Where is the area The Ivy is located?

The Ivy:

113 N Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA

Take a look at a map. It's between Hollywood and Beverly Hills (I think it's probably technically West Hollywood).

I am actually trying to find a map of Santa Monica, and the other places....not just thru Internet. Went to B&N over the weekend and couldn't find any I liked.b I wonder if I can get some Tourist maps thru Chamber of. Commerce. I like the bigger colored ones. If anyone knows another place to get these please let me know.

Thanks! I just called them for a guide and map, they will put in mail. I can't wait to read it. You know, I think planning a trip is half the fun.

I'm not above saying I hope I see a celebrity or two. Our local celeb is Rupert Boneham...saw him in the Dunkin Donuts by our house the other day. Shoot...forgot to watch Survivor last night.
