Need casual restaurant suggestions

Hi, i am looking for a casual restaurant in Venice or Santa Monica for lunch. We will have just arrived in LAX and it will be a Wednesday. Seafood, tacos, Mexican, would be nice but not necessary. Something unique to the area is what I'm looking for. I'd like to have a couple ideas of places we wouldn't have to wait since im guessing we'll be hungry and maybe cranky from our flight. I know about Huckleberry but it sounds busy. Abbott pizza in Venice is appealing.

We are staying at Le Montrose Suites. I'd love some ideas nearby there or in Beverly Hills for a casual dinner and for breakfast in the mornings.

My idea of casual could be counter service or sit down with menu with lunch prices per person maxing out around $15. Yes we will have car. Thanks !

Venice Beach has a few options. If you like sausage and hot dogs, Jody Maronis

I'm a fan of Hawaiian poke and there is a really tasty place in Venice. Right next to it is dessert, bread pudding

For a sit-down at Venice Beach, Sidewalk Cafe

On Lincoln Blvd. toward Santa Monica, is a tasty barbeque restaurant, Baby Blues

Very decent Mexican food at La Cabana at Rose and Lincoln

On Rose is the popular Rose Cafe

Whatever you do, DO NOT go to Mao's Kitchen. It is pathetic.

In Santa Monica, I enjoy Cha Cha Chicken

Don't overlook Perry's Cafe locations along the beach, you can rent bikes there, too.

Hot Dog on a Stick's first location is at Santa Monica beach.

Bay City Italian Deli is outrageously good! A loaf of bread, Toscano salami, and sharp provolone at the beach is bliss, but they make a fine sandwich, too.

Tacos Por Favor is popular with teens. I dislike tacos and theirs aren't anything to write home about, IMO, but I'm in the minority here!

I forgot to share this place, Wurstkuche. It has long, long lines of hip young people waiting to get in, but I've not tried it; on Lincoln Blvd. in Venice:

For WeHo (West Hollywood) -- where Montrose Suite Hotel (no final 's' in suites! Yeah, it bugs me too!):

For breakfast:

1. Champagne -- which is a small chain of French 'order at the counter' restaurants: http://champagnebakery.com/home/ Lunch is also good here. The closest location (which you could walk to if you don't mind the downhill and then uphill trek) is at 8917 Santa Monica Bl. Here's a map from the hotel to the restaurant: http://mapq.st/17VvtqD

There's also one in Beverly Hills (around the corner from the famous part of Rodeo Drive). Here's a map from the south end of Rodeo Drive (at the corner of Wilshire Bl) to the restaurant: http://mapq.st/1dC5aIe

2. The French Quarter Restaurant in the French Market Place is an AMERICAN restaurant which serves great breakfast which include homemade muffins and casual, affordable food. http://mapq.st/1agBRsT

3. Dialog Cafe -- http://www.dialog-cafe.com/ -- also within walking distance of the hotel, just off the Sunset Strip at Holloway Drive.

For dinner:

1. In Beverly Hills: Carson House: http://www.carsonhousebh.com/site/ Attractive, newer place with a pubby feel to it. It can get crowded and a little bit noisy so if you're looking for a quiet place, this isn't it. Try the grilled cauliflower (I was in doubt, too, but, you'll like it).

2. In West Hollywood: Fresh Corn Grill http://www.freshcorngrill.com/main.html Informal place, great tacos and don't forget to try the corn soup.

What kind of food do you like?

We like pretty much everything. I personally love fresh-type places with salads and fresh veggies. So many of these places look so good, it will be hard to choose!
