Los Angeles

Hey my girlfriend and I are travelling to canada January next year and we are stopping in LA for 5 nights. Was just wondering on what we should do while we are there. (We love to shop and eat good food, fun activities?) "dont need to take that into consideration just something to add". Also we are wondering if its worth it making a trip to disneyland?

Thanks for all your comments in advance :)

Start with the FAQ's (first post in this forum) and the top questions (posted on the top right hand side of this page (only visible on a PC - if you're on a smart phone you won't see them). They have answers to many questions like this including some sample itineraries. It may help if you could give us a bit more information about yourself - that you like to shop and eat good food is great but it doesn't help us narrow things down for you really, because great restaurants can be found all over the LA area as can shopping - the least expensive shopping is, at least in theory, to be found at the outlet malls but for the most part these are located on the outskirts of LA or even outside of LA, and planning a trip around them will leave you staying somewhere inconvenient for most other tourist attractions.

Disneyland can be worth it, for sure. If you've never been you'd want to go for perhaps 3 days, though you can get by with less - there are now two Disney parks located next to one-another - the original Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure - to really cover them thoroughly you need two days at the former and one at the latter, but even going for just one day is quite fun. However, if its "worth it" or not depends - first, its an expensive place - figure admission close to $100 per person per day though it can be a little less if you get a multi-day pass, and then everything inside is expensive as well. Second, if its worth it or not also depends on whatever else you might do with that time instead of going to Disneyland.. Spending time at Disney rather than at other places depends on you, what those places are etc. There's a lot more to see and do in LA than just Disney.
