BCS Championship parking

Where is the best place to park at the BCS Championship game? Should I pay to park near Parsons, or try to get into the golf course parking lot? How fast do these spaces fill up?

There are a dozen threads out there about this.

As a guess and strictly a guess I'd say the Rose Bowl lots will be full before 3PM, maybe sooner.

But part two of the equation is how anxious are you to leave when the game ends? If you park at the Rose Bowl, it can take an hour or longer to get out of the lot. If you park at Parsons, it is a 40-45 minute walk or a wait for the shuttle. If you get lucky with the shuttle, it could take 10 minutes, if you are unlucky, it could be the same time as walking.

The fastest way to get on the road after the game might be to park at the Sierra Madre Villa Station of the Gold Line. Yes it is still the walk or shuttle from the stadium, but the parking lot is smaller so it is a bit less of a jam to get out and get on the road.

And of course where you are staying might have a bearing on it too.
