Anywhere decent to eat near LAX airport?

We will be staying overnight at Crowne Plaza 5985 W. Century Blvd before heading home the next morning. Is there anywhere decent & reasonably priced to have dinner close by? I don't like Indian food or any spicy food.

The LAX Marriott has three nice places to eat, Champions Sports Bar, the Brasserie and JW's Steakhouse, the Sheraton Gateway has Paparazzi (Italian) and the Westin Hotel has the Daily Grill, a chop house.

Are you willing to take a taxi about 10 minutes/$20?? That will open up your options to some great restaurants.

Local place, reasonable prices. Plenty of free parking next to the restaurant

You can take the Ocean Express Shuttle for $5 pp, round trip, a few miles south to Manhattan Beach, where there are many great restaurants in a few block area around the MB Pier. The shuttle leaves from a number of stops in front of the Century Blvd hotels. You can only buy your ticket from the front desk of your hotel.

For more information check out Ocean Express Shuttle. They also make quick stops after the pier at the Village Mall and Plaza El Segundo.

Thanks to all of you for your help. It seems like there is quite a bit close by. We fly in from New Orleans around 6pm so I don't think we would bother going further afield as we have a very early start the next day.

I have noted all your suggestions.

www.theproudbird.com/proudbird/default.aspx The Proud Bird, slated for closing but still operating, is interesting, especially for the planes outside and the airline-themed memorabilia inside. Not gourmet food, but you asked for decent. You could technically get there by foot or bus from the CP, but taxi would be best (unless the hotel's shuttle could take you during a slow period; I doubt it but you could ask).

Here's where the Proud Bird is http://goo.gl/maps/JlTps I can understand the desire to stay nearby, however. We stayed at the CP once, but ate dinner at the new-closed Encounter restaurant in the middle of LAX. Have had quite decent dinners in the Radisson, Sheraton and Hilton hotels near the CP.
