Holiday rentals advice

Hi Please could I have the forums help with booking a holiday rental, which we have narrowed down to three possible listings. If you could give any advice on location and reliability of the owner, if possible? We will have a car, thanks

Cannot comment on the owners of these properties. The 3rd location looks to be right on the beach or very close to it, so would be my choice. The first location looks to be inland a bit, east of Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice. IMHO, Venice residential areas can be anywhere from artsy and nice to ho-hum. The second location looks to be in a residential area inland from Marina Del Rey - same comment - part of that area is pretty nice, parts just ok.

I would give a miss to the second one on Redwood Because it's east of Lincoln blvd. (and that's why they don't show the street photo). The one on the Marina Peninsula looks good (probably your best bet) ... And the one on Juan also looks good but the area is a lot more colorful than the Peninsula. I have no idea about the owners ... Make sure to read the "Comments" on the top right on each property.

I'm not sure I understand the negative aspect of being east of Lincoln. Actually, the neighborhood east of Lincoln, known as Mar Vista, is a nice, fairly affluent, quiet, single family one. It's built up a hill with excellent ocean views and breezes and away from the nonsense of Venice Beach at night.

Trivia: The elementary school used in the comedy TV show Modern Family is on Walgrove Ave. in Mar Vista.

Thanks for the replies but we have left it to long and the rental on the beach has gone. Could you advise on the area of this rental, if you think it is better than the other two?

We also had the following rental in mind but the owner wanted id and access to a social media site. If you could advise if this is standard as we have booked in San Francisco and this was not needed.

thanks

That one is west of Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice, so a bit closer to the beach than the one east of Abbot Kinney from your first post. Same comment about hit/miss of Venice neighborhoods apply, but I'd probably prefer it over the two choices still available from your first post.

The one on Northstar is again on the Marina Peninsular ... That would be my choice of the two ... The other one in Venice would probably be fine as well ... If they have parking.
