recommended hotels by LAX

Hi folks,

Flying into Los angeles airport (LAX) on wednesday evening. Picking up a rental car early the next morning (didnt want to get it after a long flight and a few likely beers). Can anyone recommend a close by, reasonably priced hotel in this area?

Many thanks

There are a couple of dozen hotels in the LAX area that all are close by and have free shuttle buses. We're not really able to decipher what 'reasonably priced' is. Can you provide an amount in U.S. dollars?

There are two neighborhoods that have hotels near LAX: El Segundo and Westchester.

The car rental locations are spread out amongst these hotels (most are in Westchester, though). If you have a particular car rental company you plan to use, it might be easier to stay at a hotel nearby that office. Please tell us more.

Meanwhile, here's a list of the hotels in El Segundo (you can look up rates by entering your travel dates): Link and SCROLL DOWN for the list...

And a list of hotels in Westchester (after linking, click on the 'neighborhood' drop-down menu near the lower left corner of the first page and select LAX). You will see only 6 hotels in Westchester (there are actually 12 or so -- Trip Advisor's 'search' function is not working properly. So, after the list of 6 hotels appears, click on the map at the right, and you'll see all of the hotels along Century Bl to the east of the airport on the map as well as the Custom Hotel to the north of the airport. Just click on each one on the map and a small window will open; then click on the name of the hotel in that window and you'll see reviews and prices for that hotel. Sorry about the inconvenience. Trip Advisor is working on fixing this.

I think for an evening arrival to LAX, you should stay at the Travelodge LAX. It's on Century Blvd. where all the other airport hotels are located down the street from the airport. Call from baggage claim and the free 24 hour shuttle will pick you up.

They serve free breakfast, and are near the car rentals.

Thank you both for the responses. Yeah something like the Travelodge would do it, just looking for something on the cheap side which is reasonable enough. Not looking for luxury just somewhere to get the head down for the night, and up and out early the following morning. The fact you get a breakfast as well at travelodge is good :D its the infamous dollar we are renting from. Hoping it goes smoothly! Thanks again. Will still take ablookbat your suggestions hopskipjump
