Best hotel location for tourists where's it's fun to stay.

We'll be arriving in May for seven days in L.A. We'll have a rental car the whole week. We'd like to stay in a area where there's plenty of people watching, bars to go to and someplace that's not in the middle of no where. I'm not worried about homeless people or seedy places. We like bars and strip clubs don't bother us. I was thinking about the Best Western Sunset Plaza on Sunset Blvd, next to the Sunset Towers in West Hollywood. Is there lots of spots in that area to walk and have fun? Any help is appreciated.

Lots of bars and restaurants in that area. It pretty much matches the description of what you are looking for, and its reasonably central. Santa Monica would be another option but less central (though at the beach) and likely to be a bit pricier.

Lots of bars and even a strip club around the Best Western on Sunset. I also recommend Santa Monica, where you can walk from bar to bar to bar to bar.

Be sure to walk across the street to The Comedy Store for some laughs.
