Most extreme water slide and roller coaster in California?

OK thrill seekers, I'm wanting to ride the best, most extreme water slide(s) and roller coaster(s) in or around LA. I'm staying in Anaheim and wont have a car. But am certainly willing to travel for the best ride.

Where are they?

Go to Knott's. Two for the price of one. Check out their website. Chuck.

Six Flags Magic Mountain, but they aren't open every day of the week.

I noticed you are going to be here in May. Six Flags Magic Mountain has began the season when they are open daily. You will either needto hire a car or take a tour. Here is just about the only tour going from Anaheim. There is a good water park near Six Flags MM, so you may want to hire a car.

Disney California Adventure has a good roller coaster and Tower of Terror is pretty thrilling.

Knott's is a short public bus ride away from Anaheim (the Metro 460) and has the Silver Bullet and the Ghost Rider wooden coaster.

I suggest googling the park names + wikipedia or going to their websites. You may find good video of the rides on You Tube.

Si Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor is where I would head to, and then get a nearby Hotel for one night, maybe two.

Magic Mountain is the Roller Coaster Capital of the World, with 19 coasters as of this summer, X2 is a very well known Extreme Coaster, but they have many others.

Hurricane Harbor is the Water Park next door, and they are adding the Bonzai Pipelines this summer, which is the extreme slide system in the USA.

Check the schedule on Hurricane Harbor, as it isn't open every day in May.

Looks like your dates are May 3rd thru 8th, so I think you can take Water Parks off your list, as the majority of them won't open until late May. Palm Spring's Wet 'n Wild is open, but that is hours away (east of the LA area), so that isn't worth the travel time.

So I would focus on a full day at Six Flags Magic Mountain, a weekday would be the best for crowds, but get to the park before opening.

A full day at Knott's Berry Farm, which has quite a few Roller Coasters, such as GhostRider for a great woodie, and Xcelerator for a launched coaster. Close to Anaheim.

A full day at Universal Studios Hollywood, they have Transformers 4-D, which has been named the best Amusement Park Ride in the world by multiple originations. You can take a Tour Bus, or use public Transit (Amtrak Train from Fullerton to Union Station) and connections of buses and subway.

And of course, 2 or 3 days at the Disneyland Resort.

There is nothing "extreme" about any ride at Universal Studios.

I'd concentrate on Magic Mountain and Knott's Berry Farm for roller coasters and even Knott's coasters aren't what I'd call extreme except maybe Xcelerator.

Six Flags (where you can argue about which of their two more extreme coasters is the most extreme and where they may run the rides backwards occasionally just to freak you out more; Six Flags cured me forever of going on coasters). Hurricane Harbor should fit the bill by this summer.

This is in the Santa Clarita/Castaic area of L.A. County - far north edge.
