Firstly let me say these forums are FANTASTIC! I have spent what feels like hours reading. I hope I have explained myself enough below.
I will be going to Los Angeles at the end of September. By the time I get there I would have already been in the US for 7 weeks. It's my last stop before flying back to Sydney, Australia.
I am a 33 year old female who will be travelling alone for 4 nights. I would like to keep the accommodation per night to around $250
I have been going over accommodation options so much I am now confused.
My questions are:
- Santa Monica looks like the ideal alternative to staying instead of LA itself, however the prices are just a bit too much. Is Marina Del Rey a good alternative for me? The prices seem more reasonable.
- If staying here I believe it's pretty important to have a car. Being an Aussie (who drives ALOT) do you think I would be ok driving on the other side of the road? From what I have read as long as I have a gps, the street signs seem to be easy to see etc. I do love the freedom of having a car, I just want to make sure I won't freak out when driving on the other side of the road!
I am still working on my itinerary - Yes I will be doing some Hollywood touristy things, but I also love taking photos and am looking to explore more than just "Hollywood".
As mentioned I would have already been in the US for 7 weeks and I would like to end my trip by the ocean, which I find more relaxing than being in the "city"
Thanks in advance.Edited: 31 May 2014, 02:05
