While son (13) is still asleep, I thought I'd borrow his iPad and post while things are fresh. We flew Southwest 2 days ago from OAK to BUR. That was my 1st time flying SW. Apart from feeling like I was in school, lining up at a specific post, it went well. From BUR we took the free shuttle to N. Hollywood metro station. I had booked it the night before and it was easy to find and we didn't have to wait once we got to the shuttle. Took a taxi to the sweet little house I rented in Hollywood. All we did tourist-wise was visit the Hollywood and Highland human zoo. An action packed place loaded with tourists, and people wanting to make a few dollars from the tourists.
Yesterday I picked up a rental car at the Leows Hotel (Hertz) and we went to La Brea Tar Pits. It's interesting, but doesn't take a lot of time (not for us). We did the excavator tour, which is included in the entrance fees, but must be booked in advance. After that we headed to Beverly Hills and did the trolley tour. Not the most exciting tour in the world, but for $5 it was a pleasant way to visit BH. Later on we went back to the zoo at H&H and went to Madame Toussaud's museum. While waiting in line with my $8 off coupon, a man gave me another coupon for half price. I'm not sure if anyone pays the full price. We both found it quite fun. I hadn't been to a wax museum since I was a kid. Afterwards returning to our house, we drove to the supermarket Ralphie's and picked up some food in the Deli section for supper. I'm not someone who likes going for restaurants all the time, nor do I like cooking, so that was perfect for us, and was pretty decent. I had wanted to go to the Griffith Observatory, but was too tired. It's too bad since it's closed tonight and tomorrow we're moving on to Venice, so it won't be as convenient.
All for now. K
