Universal, how much time will it take?

We will arrive on Friday in LA, want to do Universal on Saturday and we have to be in Pam Springs that afternoon let's say around 5 PM.

s this possible? We don't need to do everything in Universal, just the StudioTour, Jurassic Park and maybe Animal Studios. Is there a Western show too here?

What time will Universal open in May?

If it's a non-holiday and not summer, they open around 10am.

At the same time, LA traffic on Fridays are the worst! If you're going to Palm Springs by 5pm, I'd leave LA by at least 1pm, or probably by noon. It's about a 2-2 1/2 hour drive to PS, but with traffic it can take 4 hours.

We will drive to Palm Springs on Saturday Afternoon. Will traffic be better on a weekend-day?

Universal will take as much time as you give to it. Vague, I know, but if you have those things you want to do, then they'll be your priority and you can leave afterward. Some take their time and spend one or two days there, some are done in half a day.

You shouldn't encounter traffic on a Saturday, unless there's an accident. Driving the freeways on a weekday will double the estimated time that amcsocal gave, above.

The tram tour takes roughly about 90 minutes. Trams usually travel at a slow speed on some hilly portions of the backlot and it stops a couple of times for Earthquake the Ride, Fast and Furious 3 car display, King Kong, Jaws, and some other stuff I can't remember right now.

I highly suggest getting to the park about 30 min. before opening so you can get into the tram queue first.

The Western Stunt Show was removed years ago. Not sure what took its place. Please visit www.universalstudios.com for up to date info.

Universal also sells Front of Line Passes for an additional price if you want your day to move faster.
