Need Info on Pt. Dune SP and Drive There

We're driving up from Marina Del Rey to Point Dune State Park and were wondering if there were are "must dos or sees" along the drive.

Also, does anyone know how late the State Park is open on a Monday? And if there are changing rooms available?

Point Dume closes at sunset. There's a restroom building, you can change there.

You might want to drive a little further and see the Big Rock at Mugu (and the sand dune) then turn around to come back and make a right hand entry into Point Dume. It's a beautiful stretch of shore.

You'll be passing through Santa Monica and Venice, some people would consider them destinations in and of themselves - but I assume you want to push onward.

Will Rogers State Historic Park is an interesting stop.

I like the Malibu Country Mart for a quick relatively inexpensive place to eat (with a variety of restaurants in one place), and a possible celebrity sighting.

Will Rogers Beach had no swimming signs all over today, due to a problem with a "bad odor" in the area near one of the storm drains.

The good news is that Zuma Beach was perfect today, with lots of dolphins in the surf zone and water temps that are now higher than they were all summer long- 70 degrees!
