One afternoon in Malibu

The girlfriend and I are heading to california for a wedding next weekend and we have one friday afternoon to kill in/around malibu. It's my first time to CA, what should we do?

Also looking for a place to get lunch, maybe with a view?

An afternoon could be easily spent wandering the shops at The Country Mart and the Lumber Yard, they are side by side. You could choose from any of the restaurants there, or go to the Malibu Pier for lunch with a view. If you have a car, drive to Duke's for lunch and eat in the Barefoot Bar. Another place, if you have a car, is Paradise Cove for lunch. Check these links:

Thanks! Will definitely hit up a couple of those spots.

Yes we will have a car. We will be coming from the north, and the maps show that we will be going through some state parks - anything in there worth checking out? what about a ride up the Pacific Coast Highway?

if it is an afternoon, I would do Cafe Habana and Malibu Beach Hotel. Probably the Hotel first for cocktails then onto Habana. Very close to each other and nice for a dating atmosphere. Great cocktails.
