Week in MB

Hubby and I are spending 1 week in MB for the first time - our 20 year anniversary. Has anyone stayed at a vacation rental which is at 10th St and the Strand? It has a rental apartment on an upper level on the back of the building facing the ocean. It looks like a nice location and we are all about the ocean views so I'm hoping the VRBO pics are real cuz the views from the deck look great. How far is Dodger stadium? Hubby is a huge fan and Manny will be back by then. Any suggestions on fun things to do all week would be great too. Thanks!

I hope you'll have a car. Dodger stadium is just outside of downtown L.A. (which is at the eastern end of our sprawling city). MB is southwest of the city of L.A. so you'd driving across most of our city to get to the stadium. If it's for a weekday, evening game, there's 'rush hour' to consider. Without it, the drive is about 40 minutes; with it, double the time.

And, of course, you'll need to add time to park the car and walk to your seats (I'd give it at least 45 minutes; an hour if you want to load up on Dodger dogs beforehand.

Not familiar with that particular rental, but the location is great. You'll want to find out if there is a huge beach event during the weekend(s) you'll be here, since 10th & The Strand would be ground zero.

You'll be within easy walking to downtown and pier. LA has too many fun things to do, so you'd need to tell us your interests so it could be narrowed down a bit.

I have a friend who lives on the corner of 9th and The Strand, what a great location. Many of the homes have rentals over the garages or back of the homes, so you get a view from high up. You'll have a beautiful view of the Pier to your right and Catalina Island to the left, and oh, the sunsets! Will they be including a garage or parking space with your unit, that is very important?

Lots of good restaurants in town, can suggest some if I know your taste.

Thanks for the info. I'm considering renting a limo as a surprise for hubby but haven't priced that out yet. what do you think a taxi would cost to Dodger stadium? We'd rather not rent a car as this is probably the only trip that week that we'll make that we need one. We love to bike and walk.

Thanks all. We love Italian and seafood. We love to hear live music in small venues. We also love to bike, walk and generally be beach bums.

Been going to Talia's Ristorante for years, owned by the same people as Mangaiamo's and is one of our favorites. Cozy atmosphere, low key.

I would not take a taxi to Dodger Stadium. A Limo would be fun.
