Montecito accommodation

Having spent some time in Carmel and loved it, Montecito seems to be a similar "upmarket" village...am i right? Travelling from Australia, we have already stayed in Santa Barbara and seeking something a little quieter this time and a bit different but still close to SB.

Any accommodation recommendations or vacation rentals..we are two adults and one 16 mth old baby.

Travelling 02-05 December.

Thanks.

If you want a splurge, there is the lovely Four Seasons Biltmore which is right across the street from the ocean, we have not stayed there but loved the property when we lunched at the restaurant there. They have a very nice pool area, there is also a very nice spa at the Biltmore. Enjoy Montecito and have a nice trip. :)

Syrah Girl has it right the Biltmore is beautiful and up market if you want to stay also up market $500-5,000 a night - they also own the San Ysidro Ranch famous for Jackie Kennedy, Grace Kelly and other having their honeymoons there. Rooms from $400 to $4,000 a night. If you want to spend less the next step down is the Montecito Inn which has 2 classes of rooms one very well done and the other nice but not great. Costs about $150 to $400. The next price down is the Coast village road inn owned by the Montecito Inn people it is a basic motel quiet and clean about $80 to $175. Thats it for hotels. You can look for apartment rentals for a month but have not seen any for weekly. This place is beautiful a nice walking town. I always feel Santa Barbara is like Double Bay was in the early 50 years ago quiet on the water and a little bustling paradise.
