Monteray/Carmel lodging

I am planning a trip for a group from LA to San Francisco. We want to stay one night, July 4 2006 in the area. The problem is 3 rooms consisting of 2 rooms with 2 adults and one room with 2 adults and 2 children, ages 14 and 17. This third room with 2 children causes most booking sites to esclude any booking. Any suggestions would be appreciated. ( all non-smokers, non-drinkers.) thanks !

Most hotels will not allow 2 children to stay in a room solo, so you may want to book it as 1 adult / 1 child with an adjoining room with 1 adult and 1 child and then the 3rd room with 2 adults. You may want to call the hotels directly as many of the websites only book up to two rooms together on line. Lastly - you may have a tough time getting a 1 night stay on the 4th of July weekend. Many hotels have 2 night minimums over long weekends.

Try the Olympia Motor lodge in Pacific Grove, ~100/night, or Asilomar Conference grounds which has cabins and a good free breakfast, but no phones or tv's.
