Cindyy's Backstreet Kitchen in nearby St. Helena is casual with excellent food. There is also Taylor's Refresher in St. Helena if you want a good burger. Enjoy the wine country! :)

Almost all restaurants in Napa Valley are casual- do you mean inexpensive? Do you mean Napa Valley or the town of Napa?

GMADEDE-

What has your innkeeper recommended? There are so many places nearby . .

Hard to make just one or two recommendations.

There are at least 40 top tier restaurants the Napa Valley (more than half of them in the town of Napa!). Here are restaurants JUST IN THE TOWN OF NAPA:

-Ristorante Allegria

-Annalien

-Angele'

-Bistro Don Giovanni (quick cab ride)

-Black Bear Diner (quick cab ride)

-Bounty Hunter (wine bar w/great food)

-Celedon

-Cole's Chop House

-Cuvee

-Dom Perico

-Fillipi's Italian (Oxbow)

(Fillipi's: Inexpensive, family style restaurant. Their traditional red sauce is considered the best in the Valley by many locals)

-Foothill Cafe

-Fume Bistro (not walking distance, short cab ride)

-Oxbow Wine & Cheese Merchant (great food, locals hangout)

-Pasta Prego (bit of a walk)

-Pearl

-Taylor's Refresher (at the Oxbow)

-Rotisaria (also at the Oxbow)

-Pica Pica Maize Kitchen (Oxbow, again)

-Folio Wine tasting (great eats, too)- in the Oxbow

-UVA Trattoria (hip Italian)

-Wah Sing (quick cab ride) Great "hole in the wall" Chinese place

-Zins Valley (quick cab ride)

-Zuzu's Tapas.

*****

Consider stopping by Whole Foods to stock up on munchies (5 min drive from your hotel).

Coming soon:

Iron Chef Morimoto is opening a restaurant in Downtown Napa in a few months!

This is just off the top of our heads. Our apoliogies to any that slipped our minds.

Talk to your innkeepers about making advance reservations for you (this service is included w/the price of your stay).

Enjoy!

Oops--

Should have mentioned Ken Frank's world famous La Toque restaurant also moved to Napa-- but it's a bit more dressy (call them to see if blue jeans are OK).

These are some of my favorite casual and very inexpensive - dinner under $10

Clemente's take out Italian (Malfatti, Ravioii and hte BEST gnocchi)

Taqueria Rosita

High Teck Burrito

Asia Cafe

We also have some chains, like In N Out Burger, Applebees, Panda Express and I Hop.

If you're looking for upscale casual and don't mind spending $$$ - try

Hog Island Oyster

Celedon

Zuzu's

Ristorante Allegria

Borders

Annalien

Cuvee

Neela's (Indian food - but get the restaurant.com coupon and safe $)

Boon Fy Cafe

Bon Appetit!

UPDATE:

Napa has 3 new restaurants!

Norman Rose (an upscale pub). Clubby vibe. Across from the new Avia Hotel on First St. Very popular.

Mini Mango Thai Restaurant- Napa finally gets a great Thai place! On the corner of Clay and Franklin (1408 Clay). A bit heavy for Thai, but very yummy. Always a wait, but it's worth it. Consider sitting on the covered patio under a heat lamp if they're really busy.

Grace's Kitchen- On the corner of Second and Franklin. Haven't been there ourselves yet, but we've heard lots of good things.

. . . and more to come!

We had lunch at Mini Mango a few days ago- it was delicous!

Tried to get into Norman Rose - it was packed! Even the bar area.

I hear their lamb burgers are great.

Hope to try that and Grace's Table soon,
