1. Re: it's between 2 spas???

Our guests love Lavender Hill Spa-- but that's not one of your options.

Do read the bad Yelp review for Lavender Hill-- it's a perfect example of why folks HATE Calistoga spas (ie they're homey, and not resort-y, like the Grand Wailea, or the Phoenician)

You also don't mention Golden Haven, which is the preferred spot for couples mud baths in Calistoga.

Sorry we can't be more help. Wish we knew more about the 2 you listed above! :)

Cheers,

thanks napa old world inn!

no problem about the two spas......i'll choose something. the only reason i didn't mention golden haven. i'm a little concern about being immersed in mud. i rather have the mud applied to my skin instead. but i'm sure it's all good.

Why those two spas? Where are you staying? Napa Valley has many spas. Those two don't often come up in the conversation.

4. Re: it's between 2 spas???

we are staying in napa at river terrance inn in december for my birthday.

looking for a spa that will do facials and wrap treatments.

why the two, because.....

1) lincoln ave spa-they have the mud and you're not immersed in it.

2)terra spa-i read good reviews on it. the wrap treatments look great.

can you recommend any napa spas? maybe i haven't research all of them.

Lavender Hill has volcanic ash, which doesn't feel so, well, muddy.

But if you're game for a mud bath, we'd suggest you go all out, and dive in (metaphorically speaking, of course). Sitting neck deep in a vat of hot mud is pretty much indescribable.

If mud sounds too yucky, then check out Greenhaus Spa, or Napa Massage and Body Care. Both have great reviews and reputations.

Also consider The Indian Springs Resort in Calistoga for the mud baths. If you want an upscale spa, check out the one at The Villagio Inn & Spa in nearby Yountville. :)

I had a facial at the Meritage spa two years ago, and enjoyed it (and the spa itself). The spa facilities were new and very nice, and rather unique - set back in a cave-like setting. The relaxation room was pretty cool - set up like a cave with falling water at one end. I had the grapeseed facial, and it was one of the most enjoyable facials I've had. It's definitely a resort-spa setting, with all the spa "atmosphere" bells and whistles.

It is, however, in a very non-atmospheric part of town -you have to drive through a heavily commercial area to get to the hotel.

I just got a Groupon for Lavender Hill Spa. It might be worth checking out if you are considering that spa.
