A day in Spring Mountain AVA

We're ready to book tasting appointments for a day in the Spring Mountain AVA. Considering appointments at Pride Mountain, Terra Valentine and Smith-Madrone. We will be traveling from Sonoma to Spring Mountain and then staying in Napa. What's the best way to set up the day. Are there other suggested Spring Mountain winery stops for Cab lovers if we're unable to schedule the above.

Consider these as well ... offering luscious reds.

Sherwin Family Vineyards - this property has a fairy-tale quality:

Fisher Vineyards - technically located in Sonoma County on Spring Mountain, you could stop here on the way over to the Napa County side:

Schweiger Vineyards is great. Don't miss it on your way down to Napa. Must have an appointment. Great Cabs!

Terra remains my wife and mine favorite. Second the Schweiger suggestion. Cain has some great wines. For something different try "The Still on the Hill" and visit Charbay.

Third vote for Schweiger and at Pride (depending on your budget), they have a nice tasting called the Summit Experience (pridewines.com/content/…guest-experience.html) which is a little nicer and the tasting is through the caves into a large room with leather chairs. Also you get to taste at least one reserve red wine and have a chance to buy some wines that are not available as part of the "normal" tasting.
