Looking for advice on Napa hotels

We are planning to stay in Napa for 3/4 days in November and have decided to stay "downtown Napa" and do day trips to the other towns. Our reason for this is to be walking distance to lots of restaurants, tasting rooms and evening entertainment. Can anyone recommend some well located boutique hotels. I've looked at the river inn and it looks great just wondering what I should be comparing it with. Also is being n the river a draw or does it not really make a difference when deciding on hotel. Thanks in advance

Napa River Inn is a great choice. It's somewhat isolated but quite close to several excellent restaurants and evening entertainment. The Andaz is another hotel to consider. It's also near a number of excellent restaurants and right in the middle of town. You can't go wrong with either.

Are you also familiar with the River Terrace Inn? How does is compare to the Napa River Inn?

River Terrace Inn is about a ten minute walk from downtown near the Oxbow Marketplace and the Wine Train. It has a pool if that makes a difference. For recent comments, check out the TA hotel reviews.
