What are some good and inexpensive restaurants in OC?

We will be going to SoCal, namely Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach and later Manhattan Beach for 4 days the rest of this week.

Any good restaurants out there, that's $25 or less per entree, but good?

We eat anything and all ethnicities, so name them all :)

The choices are too great to mention them all. Here are a few in the Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Area

Harbor House Cafe, Sunset Beach -- Casual Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Walt's Wharf, Seal Beach -- Seafood and more

Capone's Huntington Beach -- Italian

Super Mex, Huntington Beach (Beach Blvd. location) Mexican

Longboard -- Huntington Beach -- Burgers and Sandwiches

Avila's Ranchita -- Huntington Beach and Newport Beach -- Mexican

Pescadou Bistro -- Newport Beach -- French Dinner only

Roy's -- Newport Beach -- Hawaiian fusion Dinner only

Five Crowns -- Newport Beach -- Dinner only

Five Feet -- Laguna Beach -- Asian fusian Dinner only

The Cottage -- Laguna Beach -- Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

All of the above have web sites so check them out

And -- Sorry to report that TA's restaurant ratings are ridiculous. Read the reviews themselves but ignore the number ratings. The best restaurant in Huntington Beach is most definitely NOT the In-N-Out Burger.

Bon Appetit!

Roy's, Five Crowns and Five Feet as inexpensive??

In Newport I would look at Sabatino's, the Crab Cooker, Tommy Bahama's, Tradition, Ho Sum Bistro.

In Laguna Beach, House of Big Fish, Olamendi's, Mark's, Zinc Cafe and the Lumberyard.

The OP requested restaurants with entrées of $25 or less. All of those restaurants fit that criteria. Check the menus on line. Yes, they offer more expensive dishes too but you can easily dine at any of those restaurants for $25 per entrée or less. Especially in this economy, restaurants have become mindful of the need to offer dishes for diners of varying budgets.

You didn't post in Manhattan Beach, but I'll give you suggestions here. In no particular order is:

The Kettle

Rock N' Fish

Pancho's

Mama D's

Old Venice

CANative --

Do you happen to know if Hennessey's in Manhattan Beach is associated with the restaurant/bar of the same name in Seal Beach?

Yes, we've been going to the original in Hermosa Beach on the Strand since the 70's, then they opened up one in Manhattan and Redondo, and they keep spreading over the last 30 years.

In Laguna Beach, check out Las Brisas, they have good food and a very nice patio with beautiful views of the ocean. There is also the Terrace Cafe @ the Hotel Laguna and Sundried Tomato Cafe. I love In n Out burgers, I would not miss a meal there if you like burgers, Laguna Beach has a Johnny Rockets, right by Main Beach. Enjoy your trip! :)

First off, In-n-Out Burger is a FAST FOOD chain, but is very highly rated. Very limited menu, and sounds like you would rather of a server deliver your meal to the table. But it is still a good choice if you want a burger, fresh fries and a shake. And since more people prefer and rater the lower priced places, it is clear why it is the TA favorite. (Though also like other Burger Chains, FatBurger is good, but can get expensiv... if you get it, add an "egg", it truly is a great addition!)

As for Roy's, I have NEVER left that place for less than $100 for 2 folks... Is it very good, YES! But I do think it is a bit more than the OP expected. Sorry, but yes, maybe a cheap piece of chicken, shrimp or steak would be under $25.

Love Longboards in Huntington Beach, they also have some great Seafood, including Lobster most of the year.
