Tram in January - snow at the top?

Hi there. I'll be in Palm Springs in mid-January and my husband and I plan to check out the tramway. Anyone know approximately how cold it will be up there so we know how to dress? Will we be able to walk around on any trails?

It will be cold. But, hey, you're from Winnipeg!

None of us can predict the weather, so just check out your favorite weather site (weather.com, weatherunderground.com, accuweather.com) and look at the forecast before you pack.

FWIW, it's cold right now down here!

It is amazing to go from desert to mountain but it's impossible to know this far out what the temp will be.There can be snow and so you'll have to wait and see.

Just plan to dress in layers...but since you;re from Winnipeg think spring time layers not middle of winter layers. its warm and dry....not bitter wet cold...so just pack a sweater, jacket, and jeans...perhaps some light gloves. Weather in Palm Springs is hot during the day...it can get chilly at night, so this type of working (layers) works fine for the evenings in Palm Springs also if you;re out and about.

We went up a couple weeks ago. It was shorts weather on the desert floor, but we took full "snow gear" up to the top. Parka, gloves and a couple layers underneath.

Cold is such a relative term, isn't it. Thanks for the feedback.

Looking forward to exploring Palm Springs.
