Restaurants not to be missed in Palm Springs area

I have not been to the Palm Springs area in a few years and was wondering what restaurants were good these days. My husband and I will be staying in Rancho Mirage. Our favorite restaurant in years past was Mama Ginas. We are in our 40's, travelling without our children, and looking for good food and drinks- martinis, good wine list. We are open to different types of cuisine- Italian, seafood, Asian, etc. Thanks!

Mama Ginas is still there and still excellent !

Also for fine Italian try Massimo on Frank Sinatra at Hwy 111 or Riccios in Palm Springs.

For a great wine list, Flemings Steak House at the River in Rancho Mirage or for good food and an outdoor patio with live music, Pieros Aqua Pazza also at the River.

Also try the Kasier chain ( small local chain)which include

Big Fish ( PD )

Kaiser Grille ( Downtown PS )

Chop House ( PS and PD )

Crazy Bones ( PS upstairs from Chop House )

Hogs Breath Inn ( La Quinta )

I cant help with Asian, maybe someone else can-

We just came from there and recommend Mamma Gina's for a very authentic Italian dinner. We liked Piero's Aqua Pazza as the food wasn't bad and the restaurant decor was interesting, but it was a little noisy and the waiter got many things wrong, but it was still worth going. We had breakfast at Mimi's in The River complex and at a 40's diner called Ruby's. Both very good. Don't miss The Living Desert which is kind of like a zoo. It isn't too far from Mamma Gina's so get there around 3:30 -closing 5pm, take your time leaving, and go to Mamma Gina's at 5:30 when they open.

To avoid confusion, Mimis and Rubys are not in The River, they are across the highway.

For asian, there is a popular Thai restaurant in a strip mall across the street from the Rivers as well (Across the street to the east)
