Girls Weekend

There is so much info to go through here I thought I would post.

I'm considering Palm Springs for our next Girls Weekend. 4 women in our upper 30's. We like to relax, shop, spa, dine out, and catch up. We'll head out for a drink or dancing one night but are not into the rowdy bar scene and can skip this if it is not around. We are not interested in a condo or house as we do not plan on doing anything for ourselves- we're all leaving kids at home and want to go out to dinner etc.

We like nice/luxury accommodations and we do not have a set budget. Boutique or large resort is good.

We would be able to fly directly into Palm Springs.

1) would we need a car or is there an area we could go to where we could walk and/or use hotel transport/cab?

2) Is November a desirable time ( 1st week)

3) What hotel or resort would you recommend?

4) Which spa would you recommend?

5) Any must see or do's while in Palm Springs?

Thanks for your responses!

Whenever my friends and i go to the desert we use a company called VIP Palm Springs. they get us poolside cabanas, vip nightclub access, car service so we don't get a DUI (cops are all over the road at night) and anything else we need. we even got our hotel rooms through them. otherwise PS can be boring if you don't know where to go. www.vippalmsprings.com I hope that helps

My interpretation of you post is different than interpreted by the person above.

I suggest checking out some of the B&B's listed on TA. There are some very nice places that are more lodges or boutique properties than B&Bs.

There are also some specialty hotels like Riviera and Zoso which are nice and perfect for a ladies weekend.

Good luck!

I just meant that that VIP Palm Springs company helped us book our boutique hotel and events during the trip also. I definitely recommend staying somewhere other than a big hotel chain also. so many great small hotels. but the reason we use the concierge company is many of the B&B's cut staff in the summer and don't have anyone on hand to help with your extra circular events while you're there. and i don't recommend staying on property the whole time. it's a waste of a good trip if you ask me.

The Hyatt Regency is right smack in the middle of downtown Palm Springs. Restaurants, boutique shopping. By the theater where the follies are located. There are nice bars around to get a drink, and many with outside areas to people watch. Something close is The Sagurro, its a refurbished mid century done in brightly colored decor. The Spa Casino is right in the area, and Thursday night they shut down the main street and have vendors selling things and playing music. I am not sure if this is what you are looking for but you can do all those things by walking. The 1st of November is usually a very nice time.
