Looking for a resort that fits this description best!

4 adults, 4 teens (15 & 16 years old) - staying for 5 nights.

Will spend most of our time relaxing at the pool, and dining close by.

Looking for a resort/hotel that offers these must haves:

Great large pool area - large, lush grounds would be great. Don't want to feel closed in. Sprawling property is great.

Restaurants nearby

view - love it, but not at the top of the list.

no more than $300 night.

Palm Springs is just one town in the Coachella Valley. Here is a not PS suggestion. The La Quinta Resort and Club. Built in 1926 before the town of La Quinta. Garbo, Gable, Eisenhower and Capra all hung out here. Capra did a lot of his writing. Eisenhower had his own suite...so named today. Lots of pools. The big one plus the hotel offers several casitas built around smaller pools. A couple of the casitas would allow some separation for your group while being able to also head to the big pool. Golf and tennis. Restaurants in the resort and also nearby. There are also a variety of suites that are quite unique. Close to Hwy 111 which runs up through all the towns to Palm Springs. Yes, you need a car. Rates vary based on time of year. Go in the summer and there are some real bargains.

The Hyatt Suites Downtown has large rooms, nice pool. Not a huge pool area, but it's right downtown so you can walk to lots of restaurants.

Also, the Riviera Palm Springs is nice, and my favorite is The Parker (check rates as it can be $$).
