Disabled to Palm Springs

hello I havent been to PS in Many years (mid 40s) about 8-9 years, my husband and I will be going for a second honeymoon last part of March, we dont know what the future holds as Im very ill ( rareprogressive nuerological Brain and spine disease/disorders), this time I will be in my quickie Chair. We are staying at the Spa Resort Casino I remembered it from many years ago and want to do some spa there while staying, my husband can carry me in pool (very tiny at 88 pounds)I can do short walks on cane but will be in chair most of trip, we like Casinos fortuntaly because its fun for me to just ZONE out and play some slots when Im too tired to do things, but I really would love us to be able to see a few fun things. We both like museums, we love really funky fun restaraunts, were a hip! middleaged couple,ha,ha,ha (Im a musician and he an artist) so any ideas of fun shops, places to eat and things to see for 3 days

If you see a small petite darkhaired gal in a chair with gorgeous husband pushing thats us and I will have the big smile! because I love to travel and its a rare treat for me anymore. thankyou for any helps I LOVE your forum.

sorry this was so long just excited.

You have a great location to do lots of great shopping and eating and sightseeing! You are right downtown so it will be easy for you to get around. Within a short walk/quickie chair, you will be able to do shopping along Palm Canyon drive, just one tiny block over from where the spa resort is. there is a mix of souveneir shops and boutique clothing/speciality shops there ie: dog boutique, book stores, sees candies, some clothing stores, a shoe store, etc.

also endless supply of restaraunts, thai, french, mexican, italian american all on palm canyon. there is also a jamba juice, a bagel place, youve got a fantastic mexican place right across the street if you like mexican-la casita!

you can also see the little palm springs historic museums in the village green, also on palm canyon. they are like a dollar to get in or something like that, and also the agua caliente museum is there, which is free.

if you are into art and museums then you are also right by the palm springs desert art museum!! 2 blocks over from your hotel. (at tahquitz and musem drive)

there is also the adagio art gallery on palm canyon drive.

you might want to catch the follies! it is a burlseque style show starring all people over 50. its really amazing!

thankyou Palapi I was starting to think maybe PS didnt want disabled there,ha,ha but thought I would check one more time here and was so happy to see your post. I LOVE all that you mentioned it all sounds just perfect for us and the food sounds great!, I love the juice place and often go here because I have oral dysphagia and can only drink those shakes some days or we get me frappucinos for a quick pick me up, I love to eat so on good days we will be trying some places you mentioned, a good Enchilada is worth its weight in gold to me and easy to eat. We enjoy all ages of people and Im very comfortable around young kids as much as elderly, Im good at making even the crankiest human smile because Im so damn happy to wake up each morning and even more happy just to go on a trip. I must admit I HATE airports, I have to be mauled in my chair even before all the crazy security stuff.

Can you tell me how we can get tickets to the Follies you mentioned, I was a dancer and singer and pianist (still pianist) on stage since I was 6 years old so I would love to see that FOR SURE.

Thanks heaps.

Palmdenver Gal (yes I REALLY love palm trees, we lived in San Diego a time ago in Del Mar, but I need my doctors and surgeons here to keep me alive so gave up palm trees (except I of course have palm looking plants in house,ha,ha)
