the long road to Justin

Hi,

How long will it take to drive from downtown Paso to Justin? We're thinking of taking the suggestion of driving out there 1st, doing the tour and then driving back on Vineyard Drive.

Thanks,

Patuli

Hi, Patuli,

It should be a 1/2 hour or less. The most direct route is to take Lake Nacimiento Rd. west (it's the same rd. as 24th St. at Spring St. ). There wil be two forks in the road; the first one is almost immediate, & by the big cemetery; keep to the right. The second fork will give you the choice of veering right and staying on Lake Nacimiento or going left onto Chimney Rock Rd. Keep to left onto Chimney Rock, that will take you all the way to Justin (just after Carmody McKnight). On the way back, you will want to take a right near a tiny old cemetery (I believe the road is Adelaide) to Vineyard to meander past a lot of wineries. Vineyard will also take you to the 46. Take your winery map with you to aid you, although not all roads are on it.

Have a great trip; can't wait to hear your impressions of Cheval...

Justin is a very nice place to wine taste, the drive all over this area is scenic. We enjoyed the "Justification" wine there and purchased a bottle we took in to a nice dinner. Very pretty tasting room and friendly staff. They also have a restaurant, Deborah's Room where we would like to have a meal next visit to this wine region.

Please report back with your thought on Justin, I have a review with some photos of our last visit there. Cheers! :)

Thanks. Both of you have written some great reviews that have been so helpful.

Syrahgirl, I've looked at the pictures you've taken of several wineries and they're beautiful.

Can't wait to go!
