Heat

We loved our visit to Paso in April, and hope to visit again next yr in July when we will be in CA for a wedding. Noticed how hot it is this week, is this unusual to be this hot in July? How does this affect the grapes?

Yes, it gets HOT in Paso in summer. The grapes love it and one reason why the Paso area produces such bold reds.

No. It is always hot there in the summer. Fairly low humidity though.

However you can easily escape the heat for the day by just driving to the coast..

It's actually not too bad this summer - it's only gonna be around 81F on Tuesday, which is excellent for Paso in the summer. And it's cooling off at night, as the marine layer is reaching inland.

So it's a good summer to visit.
