Phelan (pronounced FEELAN) has dirt roads!

Rustic living in the dirt! GO to Phelan. See for yourself. My guess is that about 80% of the roads are dirt. But, a big plus, 80% of the homes have 2.5 acre (or larger)lots too!Shop at the Stater Brothers on Phelan rd. Eat at one of our 7 great restaurants. I recommend the Korean BBQ. and Burger Basket. Spend the night in .... ah ..well....um...we don't have a motel yet, so you might have to use the restroom at the Arco station. after you slept on the couch in that vacant lot next to the Circle K, BUT there is a car wash in town now.

Thanks half-Brit, Phelanites might be the grammarically correct way, but Phelander sounds too much like philanderer to pass up the opportunity. Sorry you left town. A couple years ago we were adding 1200 souls a month - in the peak moving time, summer. Now we have many houses unders construction. The privately owned market has been replaced by a strip mall with a liquor store, Al's which was probably there when you were. The actual site of the old grocery store is now the T-Bird, if I have understood the Phelan history correctly. Anyhow, you are much better off up there in Oregon as far as escaping the crowding and population boom. Good Luck!
