Best Seat at Sacramento Ballet

I plan to see the Sacramento Ballet on a Saturday afternoon in Oct 2013 at the Community Center Theater. Is www.tickets.com the best place to get tickets, or should I buy them directly from the community box office or over the phone? Also, what are the best seats for the value? Is the back half of the grand tier (first balcony) better than the mid section of the orchestra (ground floor)? Or is it better to spring for the front sections of the balcony or ground floor?

I like the front section of the balcony. You are high enough to see all of the action but close enough not to have your view blocked. Don't like the front sections of the orchestra (ground floor) because you are too close to see the whole scene and often you need to look up. Neck ache <grin>.

Haven't been in that building for a few years but you said you were going on a Saturday afternoon in October and there is only one Saturday afternoon left in October (October 26) so what we would do in your position is just buy the best seats we could find (which would likely be expensive) as it's last-minute. Actually, the best seats (in any venue) will usually be gone in the last 6 days.

Sometimes we "over-think" ourselves in such a situation but if you really want to go to a certain performance, and it's next Saturday (and this can go for almost any venue), buy the best tickets you can afford, soon. You could check out the prices from all the selling-places you mention and just pick the best deal with what's left.

Puter knows her theater/events also --- her advice is always sound.
