Long Run in San Jose from Dolce Hayes Hotel

Hi --

In August 2013, for a work project, I will be staying for an extended period at the Dolce Hayes Hotel (looks nice) at 200 Edenvale Avenue, San Jose, CA 95136.

I am training for a marathon and will do a few long runs -- 12 to 20 miles -- directly from the hotel. I would be happy with either a run to a trail with some hills, or an entirely flat run. I want to minimize running on busy streets, of course.

Anyone with any ideas for a good, long run?

Thank you.

Since this is a farily specialized request, I would probably contact a local running organization for advice.

Try the southern section of the Coyote Creek trail, it's not far from your hotel.

This trail is a good one, but getting to it from Hayes Mansion will require a car or couple mile run through neighborhoods - some areas have decent sidewalks and some don't. You'll have to cross Monterey Hwy, and depending on the route, run along it for a bit. I would drive to the trail.

You are pretty close to the foothills, and there are trails up there. Head south and there is a trail that can be accessed from multiple places in the residential neighborhood. Take that trail east and you will link up to this.

Edenvale becomes Lean Avenue when you go south on it Take it a few miles and you will see Curie. Several of the trail entrances are right on Curie.
