Where is San Jose ?

I better duck now !!!

Please don't get dismayed about San Francisco being called Frisco or San Fran or today I see it is now san Franc -- you will be called a lot of things if you protest or show dismay.

I just work here. :) I actually live in Santa Clara but it's easier to shorten to SJ. San Joe-zee is about the only variation I have heard. Have you all paid attention to how the GPS/sat nav voices pronounce some of our local names? Pretty hilarious.

How about people misspelling Silicon Valley to Silicone Valley? I believe the latter is in SoCal somewhere....

Since San Jose is home to the Earthquakes, Sharks and SaberCats sports teams.

A lot of visitors call them the competition, or other less nice terms for the opposing team ;)

If tourists want to be cool, they should at least call it "San Frun" because that is closer to the real pronunciation. Or how about a simple SF?

I think that this is a trick question. People don't visit San Jose.

Actually, San Jose Popular Tourist destination, maybe not as big as the "Main" locations in California, but still popular...

It does have a large International Airport.

But I can't think of any other terms, except for the Earthquakes, which I won't post here. (and I used to work for the team decades ago).

Back in the day it was called "taco town." (Now I'm the one ducking. But it's true.)

But, why do you ask? Especially if you live in San Jose.
