flying in for one day of wine tasting....

Hi there,

I'd like to set up an overnight trip for our flying club for April or May... we will fly up on a Saturday morning to San Luis Obispo Airport OR to Paso Robles Airport. From there we'll rent a van or 2 - 3 cars and do wine tasting in the afternoon. Then we want to have a good dinner, walk around town, stay at a nice place, have a great breakfast the next morning, and fly home on Sunday afternoon.

Should we fly into San Luis Obispo Airport and stay in downtown San Luis Obispo or fly into Paso Robles Airport and then stay in Paso Robles? The group will likely be both couples and single guys... age group is likely 35 - 55.

The flying club did a similar trip over Labor Day 2009 and stayed in Pismo Beach for 2 nights. Then we went to Hearst Castle, did ATV'ing, and wine tasting... this will be a shorter trip with wine tasting being the main event.

Any suggestions on the best location to base ourselves, good hotel options, wineries to visit, and good eateries? Some people may decide to make it a two-night stay, FYI.

Thanks for your help.

Carole
