San Simeon to Sequoia Natl Park

Traveling from San Simeon to Sequoia 1st week of June. Are there large wineries and farms (maybe olive or almond tree) that we could visit long the way. Since this will be about a 4 hour drive would like to make some interesting stops along the way. Your advice is always the best.

Yes you can visit wineries near Paso Robles. Already 10 wineries in a 7 mile stretch of ca46 west of Paso. Can't miss.

Paso's wine tasting rooms don't open until 11:00 am or so, so that might not work for you if you leave San Simeon early in the morning, as you would be passing through Paso's wine country within an hour of your San Simeon departure.

The rest of that drive is pretty dull with little to no interest that I'm aware of beyond Paso Robles.

Well, there is Cholame where James Dean died in an automobile accident back in the '50's. That's just before your left turn onto Highway 41 toward Sequoia. There's a small outpost there that might offer some memorabilia, but don't know for sure. I've never stopped there, myself.

You can find farms to visit on www.winecoastcountry.com/play where they list several agribusiness tourism spots. Here's one to look at:

As Kibblesmom mentioned, there are a lot of wineries along Highway 46 as you go from the coast inland to Paso Robles and eventually Highway 41 to Sequoia, but whether or not you can stop in depends on your timing. If you do end up going to wineries, please have a designated driver. Both Hwy 46 and 41 are one lane in either direction and you have to be sharp.
