Dinner first night in Santa Monica

Does anyone have a recommendation for an easy casual restaurant for dinner with good food ? This will our first night in town. We're staying at The Shore.

Nothing great about Bubba Gumps. You can not go wrong with any of the suggestions from posts #1 & 3.

I would highly recommend just walking to the Bungalow. But get there early (before 7) or you'll be stuck waiting in line for an hour - it's hopping and the hippest in LA right now. It's only a couple blocks from your hotel. If you don't like the dj, then you could walk over to Zanzibar from there (about a 10 minute walk, or less). Copa de Oro (around the corner from the Georgian) has dancing on weekends, too.

And what's wrong with tourists? I'll be a tourist and really don't care who is sitting next to me. Tourist or local...how would I know and why would I care? I was interested because I heard it was a nice atmosphere and good view.
