a stop or a stay?

My husband and our 11 month old girl will be going to Cali for a week and want to know if we should stay in Solvang or just hang out there for the day? And if we stay should we stay for 2 or 3 days? Thanks!

There really isn't a lot to do in Solvang, you may want to consider a stay in nearby Cambria, especially if you love the ocean. www.centralcoast.com Have fun! :)

I agree. You don't really need to stay in Solvang. A stop for one day to walk the town and have lunch or dinner should be plenty.

Now, with that said...if you did for some reason decide to stay for a couple of nights, you could certainly have an enjoyable time visiting Solvang, Santa Ynez and Los Olivos. The latter are the neighboring towns--very cute and sweet. Not as touristy as gimmicky as Solvang. There are a few cute shop, antique stores and some wineries in the hills. But if you're doing a one-week trip in California, there are plenty of better places to spend 2-3 days.

Awesome, Thanks! The thing is we have a wedding in Palm Springs and then we were going to make our way to Hotel del Coronado but not sure where to go from there....we have our baby so dont want to do too many hours in the car. Also not sure if we should really stay at Del Coronado or just stay in San Diego?

Solvang is quite a ways from Palm Springs/San Diego. With an infant in tow, I suggest staying closer to the San Diego area or perhaps traveling only as far north as Dana Point or Newport Beach.
