Going to Mt. Shasta

My son and I will be travelling to the Mt. Shasta area next month. We will be coming via Greyhound Bus and we are determining what terminal would be the most practical for us to arrive at.( Redding, or Weed) Since we will not be driving to the area, we are looking for info on taking a bus tour to Mt. Shasta for a 1/2 or whole day. We are looking to find out how far from the motel we will have to meet the tour bus. The motel will be either in Weed, Redding, or possibly closer to the Mt. Shasta. We would like to keep the Greyhound Bus terminal, the motel, and the area to visit as close as possible to each other. Have any of you travelled to Shasta and depended on public tranportation before? I would like to hear from you and anyone who can give me the name of a good tour bus that will take us around the area for a day, half day.

1. Re: Going to Mt. Shasta

Weed is much closer to the mountain than Redding is. Redding would be another bus drive of at least 45 minutes if not more.

Jack Trout has a tour that takes you to some great places in the Mt Shasta area including Burney Falls and the McCloud River.

Then if you know anything about the area ther are lots of people who think the mountain hold powers. There are tours for that

Here's a link to the bus service in the area:

Thanks for the tips, Suzie. I've entertained the idea of attending www.saintgermainfoundation.org/pageant.htm but am not sure I am game these days. Who knows...
