Lodging question for Tough Mudder

Hello,

My husband will be racing in the Tough Mudder and we are planning on staying 2 nights in B.C. Never been before, so had a couple of questions. We tend to gravitate towards the really nice hotels, but I'm confused about how far apart they are. Is there a shuttle buss the runs around the "village"? We want to be able to part at our hotel and walk or shuttle to the event, which I assume is towards the center of the village. A couple that looked nice were Ritz Carlton (is this too far away?) and the Hyatt. Also looked at the Charter, which looks like it's more centrally located.

Help please. :)

Thanks,

Brandy

There is a shuttle that runs through the Village and over to Bachelor Gulch where the Ritz is located, it can also be called on demand, complimentary. The Ritz is very nice, more isolated than the Hyatt, but that might be a nice thing too. Staying at the Hyatt or the Charter will give you the ability to walk to everything in the Village, the spas at the Hyatt and Ritz are FAR superior to the Charter.

Not sure if you've found your way to the Beaver Creek site, but here is a link to the lodging page with a map of where the properties are located.

There are less than a handful of "Hotels" in Beaver Creek: The Hyatt, The Pines Lodge & The Osprey. All other buildings are condominums. Unless you desire the amenities at hotels (room service) why not consider a condo? A kitchen is nice to have for those early morning breakfasts, afternoon cocktails, or a fire in the cool evenings. Check out VRBO.

Everything in Beaver Creek Village is about a 5-10 minute walk and as previous poster mentioned, the free transportation around the village is awesome. Ritz is in Bachelor Gulch. It is beautiful & has a great restaurant, but thats IT> too remote, nothing in Bachelor Gulch as far as shopping/restaurants. Some of my favorite places in B.C. are The Chateau, Elkhorn Lodge, McCoy Peak Lodge, Market Square.
