1. Re: Grocery Shopping

The question might be prices plus variety/selection. The answer depends on how aggressive you wish to be on grocery shopping, your preference for commercial groceries vs. natural foods, etc. If you don't mind the politics, there's a Walmart in Frisco (~15km NE of Breckenridge, probably on your drive from Denver). Prices there will beat the old-line supermarkets in Denver or Breckenridge (and have quickly made WalMart the biggest grocer in the States as a result). Sprouts and Sunflower "farmers markets" which are on the price-saving side of the natural food wars, are no closer than the metro Denver area. Same for Whole Foods, an older-line more expensive outlet for natural foods. There's a City Market (traditional mid-market supermarket aimed at smaller communities) in Breckenridge. Unless you want to make groceries a huge issue, you should do OK in that place during your stay. Especially if you looked first at Sprouts/Sunflower for any stuff that you'd like from them - and ran through the Frisco WalMart once on your trip for its larger selection and lower prices than you'd likely find elsewhere in the area.

What is this first answer?

There is a Safeway in Frisco - the walmart carries a few generics - but it is NOT a grocer. There is Natural Grocer in Dillon across from City Market. There is also a city market in Breckenridge. In Breck there is Kingdom grocer as well and a small natural grocer Amazing Grace. The prices have a negligible difference from Denver. Plus everything will still be cold when you get to your vacation home. As you can see, plenty of choices in town - we are a fairly small community who hosts millions - no worries! Just shop local - and get on with your vacation.
