Limited Free Time

Hey all! My boyfriends and I are leaving for Breckinridge in just a few days. Unfortuntely, most of our mini vacation is filled up with a pre-planned wedding agenda. What is on your MUST-DO/ MUST-SEE list or Breck? We have one full sat and a sun morning for ourselves. Thank you!

For me a must do is time on the Lake, rent a couple of Kayaks from townoffrisco.com/frisco-bay-marina/…

Or hike part of the Colorado Trail. It is the Colorado Trail after all!

You could also take a very scenic day trip along part of the Top Of the Rockies Scenic Byway including Independence Pass and Aspen. Check out the Hanging Lake hike at Glenwood Springs. All of this route is scenic. The section of I-70 between Glenwood Springs and Breckenridge is amazing. See this mapquest link for your route.

I should note that highway 24 between Leadville and Red Cliff is closed due to a collapsed old railroad tunnel. This is not on the mapquest route but is part of the scenic byway. It is to reopen by August 6.

I recommend taking the gondola then the chair lift at Peak 8. Really great views of the town and whole area.
